Start-up companies are vital to creating new jobs, and access to capital is vital fo
r creating start-up companies. One source of that capital are angel investors, high net-worth individuals who have the time and interest to invest in and advise early stage companies.
To help bridge that funding gap, Innovista Partnerships at the University of South Carolina, the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce and SC Launch, a program of the South Carolina Research Authority, are working to create MAIN, the Midlands Angel Investor Network.
Experienced angel investors, potential new angels, entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial support professionals are invited to learn more about MAIN and angel investing at a seminar on Oct. 13.
Renowned angel investor Bill Payne will lead The Power of Angel Investing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, 930 Richland Street.
