Sustainable Midlands Offers Opportunity to Shop and Eat Locally

Sustainable Midlands recently announced its third annual Sustainable Holiday Celebration, which emphasizes the need to shop and eat locally. The festival will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 28 in the Grand Hall of historic 701 Whaley St., Columbia. Don’t miss this opportunity to shop for amazing gifts from over 35 local artisans, score a holiday wreath direct from a local tree farm, taste great local food and enjoy a glass of wine thanks to Cellar on Greene. The celebration is a fun reminder to support local businesses and restaurants this holiday season. The event also provides an opportunity to celebrate Sustainable Midlands’ efforts to promote finding sustainable solutions that balance the needs of the community, environment and economy.

Two special features have been added to this year’s festivities:

“Foods: Grow, Cook, Eat!” with Patricia Moore Pastides of Healthy Carolina, Eric McClam of City Roots, and Anna Postic of The Shop Tart. The presentation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

As well as, a special ticketed Champaign & Sparkling Wine Tasting event featuring sommelier, Ali Borchardt of TASTE. The tasting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. upstairs next to the art gallery.
