COLUMBIA, SC. (December 4, 2012) —WebsterRogers is pleased to announce the hiring of Jessica Bastedo as an Audit Senior in their Columbia office. Ms. Bastedo brings over 5 years of experience in the public accounting and audit industry to her new role at WebsterRogers. In her new position with WebsterRogers she will be focusing on audit and attest services across a wide variety of industries.

Prior to her position at WebsterRogers Ms. Bastedo held a similar position with a boutique accounting firm in Charlotte, NC and spent time working for the North Carolina Department of Revenue. Ms. Bastedo is a graduate of Cornell University and earned her master’ degree in Accounting from Strayer University. She is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Main Street Battle for Blood Collects 118 Pints for American Red Cross

COLUMBIA, SC—Cold, wet weather did not stop employees on Main Street MainSt.Carol Caulkfrom giving blood this holiday season. The law firm of McAngus Goudelock & Courie is pleased to announce the second annual Main St. Battle for Blood collected 118 pints of blood and raised $1,000 for the American Red Cross Central South Carolina chapter on Nov. 27.          MG&C paralegal Carol Caulk served as the blood drive coordinator, and also serves on the firm’s Charitable Giving Team in Columbia. Caulk worked with other Main Street companies, including Nelson Mullins, First Citizens, Nexsen Pruet, EDENS, McNair, NBSC and Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd. Teams from the American Red Cross set up in four locations on Main Street: the Meridian Building, the Capitol Center, Main & Gervais Building and the First Citizens Bank Building. The 118 pints of blood collected can potentially save up to 354 lives.

“I am very proud of our group and the work they put into making the Main Street Battle for Blood a success,” said Jay Courie, MG&C’s managing partner. “Once again, MG&C employees show our commitment to giving and our community.”

City Council Recognizes Columbia- Richland Communications Center As Center of the Year

Mayor Steve Benjamin and the Columbia City Council presented the Columbia-Richland Communications Center with the 2012 South Carolina Emergency Communications Center of the Year award during the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 4th at the Eau Claire Print Building.  The Annual South Carolina Association of Public Safety Officials Conference recognized the Columbia-Richland  9-1-1 Communications Center as this year’s winner.  In addition, Columbia-Richland 9-1-1 employees Naeemah Foster and Wendy Royal were recognized as the 2012 Palmetto Award winners.

The Columbia-Richland Communications Center (CRC 9-1-1) telecommunicators answer approximately 385,160 calls for emergency (9-1-1), 446,552 non-emergency incoming calls, 279,696 non-emergency outgoing calls and 540,262 calls are dispatched every year.  Dispatched calls are for services to be provided by local first responders. The CRC 9-1-1 center is equipped with dedicated telecommunicators that have a willingness to assist every caller. They deserve our appreciation and acknowledgment for a job well done.

The Columbia-Richland Communications Center (CRC 911) provides continuous consolidated emergency dispatch services for the Columbia Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Columbia Fire Department, and Richland County Emergency Services. The City of Columbia is extremely proud of this esteemed accomplishment.

He graduated from the University of South Carolina and received a Juris Doctor from USC’s School of Law. Mr. Boineau served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable James R. Barber, III, and is a member of the SC State Bar and the Richland County Bar Association, including their Young Lawyer’s Division.

Mr. Delaney’s practice concentrates on general liability defense, including automobile negligence, premises liability, products liability Andy Delaney, MGC Lawand construction defects. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and received his Juris Doctor from USC School of Law. He is a member of the SC Bar Association, the Richland County Bar Association and the Council on Litigation Management. Mr. Delaney is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Monday after the Masters Charity Golf Tournament, which benefits education and junior golf. Mr. Delaney was also selected as one of the Midlands’ Legal Elite by Greater Columbia Business Monthly magazine in 2012.

Ms. Morrow concentrates her practice in the area of workers’ Kelly Morrow, MGC Lawcompensation defense. She graduated from Clemson University and obtained her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, Richland County Bar Association, Association of Women Lawyers, SC Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association and the SC Workers’ Compensation Educational Association.

Raleigh, N.C. Office:

She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky. She previously worked at the Industrial Commission as law clerk to Commissioner Dianne C. Sellers.

Mr. Hamrick’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation at MG&C’s Mg&CHamrick ,Joseph-4491Charlotte office. He graduated summa cum laude from Campbell University and received his Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law. Upon graduation, Mr. Hamrick worked for three years as an Assistant District Attorney in NC’s 29th Prosecutorial District. He is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar, the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys. In 2012, Mr. Hamrick became a NC Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law.
