The Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce held its annual Leadership Columbia graduation reception and ceremony at the Palmetto Club, Tuesday, June 11. The 40th class came together to celebrate and be recognized for all of their achievements, including the completion of their class project Leading by Reading. Each graduate completed the 10 month program, which included monthly learning sessions, a class retreat, a group project and enrichment activities. Graduates also took part in service learning with participants and were urged to apply their talents by becoming a part of professional associations, civic organizations, nonprofit boards and public commissions. All 57 graduates received a certificate and pin commemorating the event. Congratulations, Class of 2013!
Each year, members of the Leadership Columbia Class nominate one of their peers for the Glenn Jacobus Award, and award that recognizes outstanding leadership. This year, the recipient of the Glenn Jacobus Award was Callison Rawl, SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center. Congratulations, Callison!
Thank you to all of the 2013 Leadership Columbia Committee members. Leadership Columbia continues its success each year thanks to all of your hard work! We would also like to say a special thank you to Katherine Swartz, who has been the key to Leadership Columbia’s success for 5 years.
