Richland One is accepting nominations for its 2013 Hall of Fame induction class. Persons, living or deceased, who have made significant contributions to Richland County School District One, their communities, their professions or society as a whole are eligible for induction into the Richland One Hall of Fame.
The 47 men and women who have been inducted into the school district’s Hall of Fame since it was established in 2004 include NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, Palmetto Health CEO Charles D. Beaman, Jr., retired educator Fannie Phelps Adams, S.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean Toal and attorney and businessman I.S. Leevy Johnson.
Hall of Fame nominees may be alumni of Richland One schools or persons who did not attend school in Richland One. Current district employees, current school board members and other current elected officials are not eligible for nomination; however, former district employees, former school board members and other former elected officials may be nominated.
Eligibility criteria and nomination forms may be downloaded from the district’s website (www.richlandone.org); click on the Hall of Fame link. Nominations must be submitted to the Richland One Office of Communications, 1616 Richland Street, Columbia, SC 29201, by 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013.
