Salesperson from local FASTSIGNS® becomes general manager


After seven years at FASTSIGNS of Columbia – Harbison Blvd., Matt Harris has been promoted to the role of general manager.

“With his expertise in graphic design, sales and customer service, Matt helps our customers on a daily basis with their visual communications needs and marketing solutions,” said Gerry Brossard, owner of FASTSIGNS of Columbia. “He’s a proven leader, he knows our market, he’s an expert in the industry, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him as the center’s manager.”

Harris graduated from Marshall University with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in 2006 and has since received numerous recognitions within the community and the FASTSIGNS network.

As general manager, Harris will lead the Harbison Blvd. FASTSIGNS team in continuing to provide local businesses and organizations with dynamic signs and graphics that exceed their business needs and make them stand out in the competitive marketplace.

A.T. LOCKE Adds Kurtz, LaPierre To Team

Mr. Kurtz began his professional career in public accounting where he worked with a variety of individual and corporate clients across a wide range of industries.   He subsequently worked at a major national banking organization before joining A.T. LOCKE.  He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Palm BeachAtlantaUniversity.

Mr. LaPierre joins A.T. Over 200 Classic Cars Expected at Free Cruise-In/Car Show and Art Show in Irmo

On August 24, 2013, classic car enthusiasts and owners alike are invited to attend Irmo, SC’s second annual classic car show, which will be held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. More than 130 classic cars participated last year and more than 200 are expected this year. The event will be sponsored by Columbia Conference Center and DuBose Web Group and is being coordinated by Mike DuBose, a member of the Capitol City Corvette Club and Columbia Classic Chevy Club.

Owners of classic cars from 1989 and older are invited to enter the show. There is no fee to enter, and the public is also invited to attend free of charge. Cars participating in the show must be parked by 10:30 AM. Trophies will be awarded at 12:15 PM in the following categories:

  • Mustang

  • Paint job
  • Street Rod
  • Corvette

Ample parking will be available at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (6952 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29212). Attendees not entering a car in the show should park across the street at Crossroads Middle School. A police officer will assist guests in crossing the street.

Attendees will receive free hot dogs and bottled water. The church will also host an art show with exhibits from local artists. Air-conditioned bathrooms, seating, and children’s activities will be available inside the building.

Those who require hotel lodging are invited to book a reservation at the Hampton Inn at 101 Woodcross Drive, Columbia, SC 29212 at the Columbia Conference Center group rate of $84/night (mention the group rate when making the reservation).
