Chamber representatives attend a variety of meetings each week. These are some noteworthy meetings that might interest our partners: Infrastructure Rally at the State House; Richland County Public Works Department | Storm Water Improvement Plan; Transportation Penny Advisory Committee Meeting | Small & Local Business Enterprise; Benedict College | Establishing stronger partnership with the business community.

Plans for a business friendly Columbia
The Chamber was asked to be a part of the City’s ad hoc committee to review business license fees. We are one of the most military friendly cities in America, now we need to work on being the most business friendly city!

Get ready for the Annual Gala
The 113th Annual Gala is set for September 24 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Nominations are open for Military Advocate, Small & Minority Business Advocate and the Young Professional of the Year. Nominations close July 1.

Leadership Columbia Deadline Extended
The application deadline for Leadership Columbia has been extended until Tuesday, May 26. Leadership Columbia offers emerging and existing community leaders a unique opportunity to be part of a group that is moving Columbia forward. Apply today!

Cutting some ribbon…
Healthsource Chiropractic & Progressive Rehab, has moved locations and threw a party to celebrate! A good time was had by all at their 131 Professional Park Way location!

A steel drum band helped Rice Estates celebrate the unveiling of the new Arbor Center, this Thursday. The 44 bed inpatient and outpatient rehab center is officially open for business!

Connecting at Midday
Thursday, the Columbia Chamber played host to local author Tom Poland and Carolina Crossroads at Midday Connections. Everyone who came received an autographed copy of Tom’s latest book and learned what’s down the road for the area formerly known as “malfunction junction.” Thanks to Palmetto Imaging for being the presenting sponsor!

Memorial Day
The Columbia Chamber will be closed on Monday to honor the men and women who paid the ultimate price while serving in the U.S. Military. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day and we will see you Tuesday!
